Morphosis

Watercolor, pencil, charcoal, ink on bristol

July 2024

“Morphosis” is a study of the lantana shrub, which was found on UC Berkeley’s campus. The study involved depicting the plant from a seed to death, to better understand the stages of life around us. It also involved making a quick paper model and sketching an interpretation of the plant in charcoal and watercolor.

This project was completed for LA-1, “Drawing a Green Future,” a studio course covering freehand drawing and the problem-solving ways visual thinking can create a sustainable future.
